Chattanooga Women's Golf Post-round Notes
JMU/Eagle Landing Invitational - March 11, 2011 - Orange Park, Fla.
First Round
- Chattanooga is ranked No. 32 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index, No. 34 on Golfstat and is receiving votes in the Golf World/NGCA Coaches Poll.
- The Mocs played with Illinois and East Carolina...Beat the Illini by 13 and ECU by eight.
- Chattanooga is one of three SoCon teams in the field with Elon and UNC Greensboro...The Mocs are 9-0 against SoCon competition this season...Topped UNCG by 10 and Elon by 19.
- Front Nine (Counters by Round): +5 (+5/-/-)...Emma de Groot was even par on the front side with 9 pars.
- Back Nine: +3 (+3/-/-)...Maria Juliana Loza was -1 on holes 10-18, Yushira Budhram and Christine Wolf each E.
- 1st time this season the Mocs have the lead after round one...More importantly, UTC has had the lead after the final round twice with wins at the Lady Paladin Invitational and Kinderlou Forest Challenge.
- Chattanooga's lowest 1st round score of the season with a 296 (+8)...Tops the 297 (+17) the Mocs scored in the 1st this past Sunday at the SunTrust Gator Invite...Those are the only two times UTC has bested 300 in the 1st round this year...Beat 1st round average (303.17) by more than seven strokes.
- Season-high 55 pars for the Mocs as a team playing 61 of 72 holes at par or better (84.7%)...Marion Duvernay led the team with 16 pars to go with one bogey and a triple.
- UTC's 296 is the fourth best round of the season, 2nd lowest of the Spring.
- All six Chattanooga golfers are in the top 20 led by Loza (T4)...Budhram (T6), Wolf (T13), de Groot (T19) and Britt (T19) round out the Mocs' effort...de Groot and Duvernay's shared the drop score of 76 which tied the season low drop from the final round of the Mercedes-Benz Women's Championship in October.
- Loza had two birdies and 14 pars for her level par round of 72...-2 on the par 5s...2nd par or better round of 2010-11, 1st since tying career-low round with a 69 at the Mercedes-Benz...9th of her career...4th career par or better round at Eagle Landing...Is +11 in 126 career holes at Eagle Landing.
- Budhram posted three birdies and 12 pars in shooting +1, 73...3rd round of 73 or lower in last seven...6th round with three or more birdies.
