Wolf, Mocs Run Away with Record Win at JMU/Eagle Landing Invitational

ORANGE PARK, Fla.---Chattanooga dominated the field, winning by 33 strokes at the JMU/Eagle Landing Invitational at Eagle Landing Golf Course Sunday. Senior Christine Wolf (Igls, Austria) led the Mocs to victory, winning medalist honors at seven-under par 207.
Wolf set several school records with her performance this weekend. She now owns scoring records for 18, 36 and 54 holes. She shot 68 (-4) today, but that was not even the low round for the team.
Emma de Groot (Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Australia) made a strong run at her teammate with a career-best five-under par score of 67. That gave her second-place alone at minus three, 213. It's her second straight second in the event after winning in 2009. Wolf (-7) and de Groot (-3) were joined under par by Miami's Maria Ronderos who finished third at minus one, 215.
Chattanooga posted four golfers in the top 10 and all six wound up in the top 20. Maria Juliana Loza (Bucaramanga, Colombia) and Marion Duvernay (Publier, France) finished sixth and tied for ninth, respectively. Loza carded a level-par 72 today to shoot plus three, 219, while Duvernay came in at 71 (-1) for a three-day total of 220 (+4).
That quartet combined to shoot 10-under par 278, which is the school record by five strokes. The Mocs played the final four holes at five under to close out the 33-stroke victory. UTC also recorded a record tourney total of five-under par, 859, its first sub-par tournament ever.
Chattanooga cruised past a field that included five NCAA Regional teams from 2010. It beat second-place East Carolina by 33, while Campbell came in third, 25 shots shy of the Mocs' pace. UTC beat SoCon rival UNC Greensboro by 50 and Elon by 77.
Yushira Budhram (Johannesburg, South Africa) rounded out the team scoring tied for 17th at 224 (+8). Jordan Britt (Dayton, Tenn.) played as an individual and ended up tied for 12th at 222 (+6) missing the top 10 by a single stroke.
Like Wolf, it was a record-setting performance by the team. The Mocs leave Eagle Landing with new school-records for a single round, 36 and 54 holes.
