TEAM
- The Lady Mocs posted a 68-58 win over Wofford to advance to the semifinals of the 2011 Southern Conference Women's Basketball Tournament...the Lady Mocs improve to 17-13 overall while Wofford drops to 8-22.
- No. 3 Chattanooga faces No. 2 Samford in the semis on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. (E.S.T.)...the game will broadcast on SportSouth (Comcast Chattanooga 53, EPB Chattanooga 33, Direct TV 649 and Dish Network 437).
- UTC has won nine of its last 11 games...their only losses have come to the top two teams in the SoCon - 53-60 at home vs. Samford on Feb. 2 and 56-57 at home vs. Appalachian State on Feb. 14.
- UTC started the game 5-23 from the field, but made six of its last 10 shots to close the half...Lady Mocs led 31-18 at the break...Chattanooga is 13-2 when leading at the half this season.
- Wofford's 18 tied for the fewest allowed in any half this season...the Terriers only managed 18 in the second half of UTC's 72-45 win in Spartanburg on Feb. 5...Kennesaw State also scored 18 in the first half of the Lady Mocs' 65-65 (OT) win on Deb. 21.
- The game was tied at 11 with 8:48 left in the first half but UTC closed the period on a 20-7 run.
- UTC is 14-0 when leading with 10:00 left in the game.
- The Lady Mocs had a season-high 12 steals...it was the fifth game of the with 10+ steals...UTC came into the game ranked last in the SoCon with 5.6 steals/game.
- Chattanooga defeats Wofford for the third time this season and the 28th time in a row...UTC improves to 36-2 all-time against the Terriers...the last time Wofford defeated the Lady Mocs was a 69-73 victory in the SoCon Tournament on Feb. 25, 1999.
- Wofford's Mahogany Williams had 19 rebounds in the game...the most by a UTC opponent this season.
- Chattanooga was just 6-26 (23.1%) from 3-pt. range...its lowest percentage since going 4-27 (14.8%) at Samford on Jan. 19.
INDIVIDUAL
Sophomore Kayla Christopher
- 17 points on 6-10 shooting, 1-3 from 3-pt. range and 4-4 from the FT line.
- Grabbed five boards...averaging 5.4 rebounds over last four games...3.6 on the year.
- Game-high and career-high five steals...tied for most steals in a game by a Lady Moc this season.
Junior Bailey Dewart
- Seven points on 2-6 shooting, 2-5 from 3-pt. range and 1-2 from the FT line.
- Added seven rebounds.
- 14-28 (50.0%) from 3-pt. range over the last six games.
Junior Whitney Hood
- 11 points on 4-10 shooting, 3-4 from the FT line.
- Team-high nine rebounds.
