CHATTANOOGA, Tenn --- Former Chattanooga Mocs basketball players DeAntre Jefferson (Bloomington, Ill.) and Jeremy Saffore (Nashville, Tenn.) are continuing their playing careers with professional teams in 2011-12. That raises the number of former Mocs currently playing professionally to 12.
"Those guys are living the dream," said Shulman. "They get the opportunity to see the world and play the game they love. Each is working toward a goal and you know they want to get to the league (NBA) one day. It's exciting to see them continue to work, grow and take care of their families."
Jefferson is slated to play in Portugal for Barreirense CEPSA in Liga Portuguesa de Basquetebol. Saffore signed on with the London Lightning of the National Basketball League of Canada.
All-in-all, Mocs are playing in 13 different countries in North America, South America, Europe and Africa. The complete list:
