Mocs 15th after 18 Holes at Bettie Lou Evans Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. --- The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team is in 15th-place after 18 holes at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational at the University Club Friday. Chattanooga shot 331 on a cool, windy day.
It was a tough day for UTC with all five student-athletes bunched within two shots of each other. Senior Maria Juliana Loza (Bucaramanga, Colombia) was low for the Mocs with an 82 (+10).
Marion Duvernay (Publier, France), Michaela Gasplmayr (Ebenfurth, Austria) and Mette Kryger (Nivaa, Denmark) each shot 83 (+11). Jordan Britt (Chattanooga, Tenn.) had the drop score with an 84 (+12).
UCF (311) leads host Kentucky (312) by one shot. Miami (Fla.) is three shots (314) off the pace in third, while Illinois (318) is fourth.
The Fighting Illini's Samantha Sloan is the individual leader with a one-under par total of 73. Middle Tennessee's Ashley Haggard and Kaitlyn Price of UCF are tied for second at plus two (74).
The Mocs tee off at 8:30 a.m., Saturday morning playing with Toledo and various individuals from competing institutions. Britt leads off No. 10 followed by Gasplmayr (8:40), Kryger (8:50), Duvernay (9:00) and Loza (9:10). Live scoring can be accessed at the link above or on the women's golf schedule page on GoMocs.com.
