When you go on the road and hold that team (Davidson) to 56 points, you've got to find a way to win. Give them a lot of credit. They did a great job defensively. They disrupted things. When we tried to set a pick on the ball, they did a great job there. We've got to work on that, clean things up. Biggest thing is we've got to knock down some shots when we get a good look. That would be a good start.
Too many turnovers, give them credit for getting after it. Also, we did a pretty good job on Murray in the first half and then just let her go off in the second half. She had zero at half and 13 in the second half. She hit some big 3's. Ka'Vonne Towns did a nice job on her but that was about it.
I was disappointed. Makes for a long trip home when you go 0-2 on a road trip.
On the rebounding by the Lady Mocs
We also got beat on the boards again. It's a couple of games in a row. We gave up 19 offensive rebounds. That's hard to overcome that as well. We did a good job defensively for the most part, but when you get outscored second chance points 16-5 and then you lose by four, you got to start with the rebounding as something you've got to get better at on both ends of the floor. The bad thing is we were leading the conference (in rebounding) and on this road trip, we've gotten spanked on the boards both games.
On the play of Ka'Vonne Towns
She did a nice job. I think she still has some improving to do - perimeter skills and ball handling, but tonight she made some great plays - she also had four assists and one turnover. She did a nice job setting her teammates up. She was able to beat her man or dish it off for an open look. Great job from Ka'Vonne.
On the second half of SoCon season
It's hard to see the silver lining now. But, as you said, we've got six out of 10 games at home and that's going to be good. We only have one two-game road trip left (Wofford/Furman). We have a chance to get it done. Now we're one game behind Appalachian State with their win tonight, but we've got them and Davidson on our home court. We've got some opportunity to get it figured out quick. At some point pick we've got to get our head up and knock down shots.
