Chattanooga Head Coach Wes Moore
On getting the momentum late in the game:
"I am just glad that it got going at some point, because the last couple of years, it had not started at all when we have been down here. You have to take your hat off to the defense. We held them to 15 points in the second half. Harris just killed us in the first half with 15 points and our kids did a good in the second half. We doubled her a little bit. We don't do it a lot and we are not as consistent with it, but we tried it in the second half. Like I said, the girls did a nice job of rotating on that."
"Taylor Hall had 10 boards...that was big. Kylie Lambert has five offensive (rebounds) and Meghan Downes went in there and got three offensive boards for the guards. We outrebounded them. At halftime we were down a coupole of boards and we ended up outrebounding them by five which I thought was big. More assists than turnovers, that is always a good thing. A good team performance."
"Kayla Christopher at halftime was 0-3. I told her she had to shoot more. She didn't shoot a ton more, but the two she hit late in the game were big. Kylie Lambert hit a big three late in the game. There were some big shots everywhere. Whitney Hood - 16 points - did a nice job on the block. Which is tough when you are playing Charleston because they are going to double you every time you touch it on the block. I thought she did an nice job and Faith did a nice job coming in off the bench for her."
On the Play of Ka'Vonne Towns:
"I have a lot of high hopes for Ka'Vonne. We are playing her at the four some right now, just to get her on the court a little bit more. Two assists, no turnovers and hit a big three for us in the first half when we were struggling from out there. That is the tough part. When they are doubling your post, you have to find somebody who can hit a few shots. I thought Tenisha hit a big one in the first half and then Ka'Vonne hit one. Taylor Hall had another one in the first half also. Those let us hang around and we were able to pull it out down the stretch."
"This was a good win for us because we haven't had a whole lot of success down here in the past. We are excited to get it."
