Lady Pirate Intercollegiate - Final Round
Mocs End Up 8th, Britt Tied for 3rd

GREENVILLE, N.C. --- The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team finished eighth at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate Tuesday. UTC's final round 308 gave it a total of 918, four strokes behind Maryland in seventh at 914.
“I'm disappointed,” Head Coach Colette Murray said. “We came here with an eye on winning the tournament just as we did a week ago. Other than Jordan, we just didn't show up.
“That's probably the one take away from this...it was humbling,” Murray added. “We learned we can't just show up and win. We need to be at our best each time out.”
Jordan Britt (Chattanooga) was low for the Mocs tying for third. She carded rounds of 72, 71 and 76 for a total of 219. It's her second top five in a row. She's averaging 72.7 strokes per round over the last six.
Emily McLennan (Queensland, Australia) matched Britt for low round today at 76. She shot 232 for the event, two better than Isabella Loza (Bucaramanga, Colombia) at 234.
Agathe Sauzon (Valance, France) and Porsche Campbell (Vancouver, Canada) rounded out the team scoring. Sauzon finished at 239, while Campbell ended at 244.
East Tennessee State won by four over Middle Tennessee. The Bucs shot 897 after a final 18 of 301. The Blue Raiders tallied 901 with host East Carolina (904) in third, another three strokes back.
MTSU's Avery George, a freshman from Cleveland, Tenn., won the event as the lone student-athlete in the field under par. George finished at one under (215) turning in cards of 75, 67 and 73. Longwood's Amanda Steinhagen was second (218), one ahead of Britt and Maryland's Juliet Vongphoumy.
UTC returns to the tee this weekend in Iowa. The Diane Thomason Invitational starts Saturday, October 12, with 36 holes with a final 18 on Sunday at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City. Live scoring link is available via GoMocs.com on the women's golf schedule page.
