PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. --- The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team is tied for 10th after 36 holes Monday at the Web.com Intercollegiate on Marsh Landing Country Club. UTC shot rounds of 298 and 303 for a total of 601 which knots it with Maryland, Michigan and East Carolina.
Sophomore Agathe Sauzon (Valence, France) and junior Jordan Britt (Chattanooga, Tenn.) led the way for the Mocs. Sauzon turned in even par rounds of 72 to tie for eighth at 144 (E). Britt was a stroke behind on both cards shooting twin 73s for a two-over total of 146 tying for 18th.
Freshmen Emily McLennan (Queensland, Australia), Isabella Loza (Bucaramanga, Colombia) and sophomore Porsche Campbell (Vancouver, Canada) rounded out UTC's scoring. McLennan shot 154 including an opening 75 (+3). Loza and Campbell ended up tied at 157.
No. 14 Purdue is the leader by five over Iowa State. Purdue is at minus two, 574, while Iowa State, the first round leader, is at 579. No. 17 Texas Tech is third at 580. The Red Raiders Gabriella Dominguez is the individual leader at minus five. The Boilermakers' duo of Laura Gonzalez and Paula Reto are three back at 142 (-2).
