Season Best Par 3 Scoring
Chattanooga's 4-over par play on the par 3's this week is a new season best. It tops the 11 over shot at the Diane Thomason Invitational. Isabella Loza and Agathe Sauzon led the way at even for the four such holes.
Second 18 Ties for Second on the Season
The Mocs tally of 297 in round two is tied for the second-lowest team score of the fall campaign. The squad also shot 297 to open the season at the Cardinal Cup (9/15).
Loza Sets New Career Mark
Junior Isabella Loza has been on a solid run of late. She took that up a notch this week on Kiawah Island. Her 54-hole total of 221 is a new career best supplanting her 223 at the 2013 Gator SunTrust Women's Golf Invitational her freshman year. Her scoring average is 74.5 over her past six cards.
McLennan Also Sets New Best
Junior Emily McLennan had the Mocs best score of the fall with a career-low 67 in round two. The 5-under total is one better than the 68 she shot last spring in the Web.com Intercollegiate in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
Freshmen Post Best Results
Freshmen Megan Woods and Cris Perez had their best 54-hole totals of the fall this week. Woods' 228 (74-77-77) is five clear of her previous low of 233 (Mason Rudolph Championship). Perez turned in a 235 (77-81-77) which is 10 better than the 245 she began her career with at the Cardinal Cup.
Up to Par Student-Athlete Notes
- McLennan recorded her 900th career par in the first round…she now has 924…she has played more than 1,100 par or better holes (1,107) when you add in her 183 birdies which rank 4th in school history behind Emma de Groot (287), Jordan Britt (249) and Christine Wolf (248).
- Loza has 78 pars in her last 108 holes…she has 888 through her first two-and-a-half seasons…she moved past 1,000 par or better holes today now with 1,011 (123 birdies).
- Agathe Sauzon topped 800 pars in the second round…she's at 812 in 73 rounds.
