Head Coach Jim Foster
On playing without the injured Aryanna Gilbert:
“(Aryanna) got injured in practice so we could not work on another combination of players. That had to work itself out in the game and it did. The first half there were some silly fouls and some legit fouls. We got into foul trouble and our bench came in and did an incredible job. Not a great job, but an incredible job. It allowed us to stay within striking distance.
“Going out in the second half, we got people in foul trouble. We made a point to get after them defensively, and that changed the complexion of the game.”
On the 17 steals in the game:
“We just did a very good job. We did not allow them to get the ball in the post. It was too easy in the first half, so we made adjustments in the second half. Our guards amped up the pressure and they started to have to throw longer passes.”
On the timely shooting from 3-point range:
“That is what was there today. This team has done a pretty good job of recognizing what's there. Jazz had here little run to help us take the lead. Then they were collapsing in that area, so we were making the next pass and getting open shots.”
On the play of Chelsey Shumpert:
“As did Ka'Vonne. I thought out perimeter people did a great job. Keianna did too. She sat a long time in the first half, came back in the second half and sparked us also. We started to have trouble at the three-point line and started extending out. We got it a couple of times to the high post. It was a good team win. A lot of people had an opportunity to get in the game.”
