Mocs Shoot 3rd-Lowest Round of Season

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. --- The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team shot its third lowest round of the season with a three-over par 291 Tuesday at Cypress Links Course. The round gave the Mocs an 885 total which is its second-best this year ending up in 10th-place, a single stroke behind Indiana.
“I think we played OK, but it was really scoreable,” Head Coach Colette Murray said, “I don't really know where we stand. Isa played well today, Emily too. I don't know what to think, but we didn't play badly other than the middle round.
“I do know that we are working hard, I know this team is going to get better and better as the spring progresses.”
Agathe Sauzon (Valence, France) led the way this day with a one-under par 70. She completed her 54 holes at four-over 220 tied for 29th with teammate Jordan Britt (Chattanooga, Tenn.) who turned a 74 (+2).
Emily McLennan (Queensland, Australia) and Isabella Loza (Bucaramanga, Colombia) rounded out the counting scores with one-over par 73's. McLennan wound up tied for 31st one stroke behind Sauzon and Britt.
No. 14 Vanderbilt overcame a two-stroke deficit to top No. 21 UCF by one stroke. The Commodore's 281 gave it a two-day total of 844. No. 20 Michigan State ended up five strokes back in third.
Vandy's Simin Feng won medalist honors in a playoff over the Spartans' Allyssa Ferrell. The duo shot nine-under par 207. UCF teammates Fanny Cnops and Kristine Odaiyar tied for third at 208.
Chattanooga returns to the course in two weeks at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic. The event is played at two venues – Oak and Cougar Point Golf Clubs – on Kiawah Island, S.C.
