FRANKLIN, Tenn.---The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team shot 300 today and is in sixth-place with 18 holes to play at the Mason Rudolph Championship Saturday afternoon. Coach Colette Murray knows her team is in position for a strong finish.
“I'm pretty happy with where we are,” Murray stated. “I said before we came here, I'd like a top 5 finish. The way we've played the first two rounds, we have a shot at the top three. It's within reach…it's definitely doable for this group.”
Emily McLennan had the low round for the Mocs with a 1-over 73. She was 2 under through 14 holes before a double bogey-bogey stretch slowed her round. McLennan is tied for seventh overall at even par.
Chattanooga-area native Sarah Dolmovich was one off McLennan's pace with a 74. That was one clear of Isabella Loza who shot 75. Agathe Sauzon tallied a 78 to complete the squad's score of 300. Megan Woods had the drop score with an 82, while Cris Perez shot 78 playing as an individual.
Sauzon is tied for 20th, three behind McLennan at 3 over for the tourney. Loza is another shot back, tied for 27th, at +4.
Host Vanderbilt is the tournament leader. The Commodores 5-under 283 gives it a 5-under 571 through 36 holes. That's six ahead of LSU. The Mocs is one behind fifth-place Auburn and four ahead of seventh-place Virginia. LSU's Madelene Sagstrom and Vandy's Jenny Hahn lead individually at 4 under. Mississippi State's Jessican Peng is tied with Commodores individual Cindy Ha at -3.
It's a 9:20 a.m., Eastern time start for Chattanooga. Woods is first off the No. 1 tee for the team followed by Dolmovich (9:30), Loza (9:40), Sauzon (9:50 and McLennan (10:00). Live scoring is linked above as the Mocs are paired with GRU Augusta and Auburn.
