UTC hosts the 2016 SoCon Tournament in April.
University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis head coach Jeff Clark announced the Mocs' 2016 spring schedule today. Included in the slate are 12 home matches, capped off by the Southern Conference Tournament at the Champions Club in Chattanooga.
"We are very excited about the upcoming spring season," stated Clark. "We have put together some quality regional matches with some tough competition, and I think our fans will enjoy the number of home matches we play this year."
Spring play opens on Jan. 17 at Memphis. The first indoor home match is Jan. 22 against Lipscomb at the McCallie School. Other home indoor matches include UAB (Jan. 30), Evansville (Feb. 12) and Murray State (Feb. 13). Some early road matches include trips to Tennessee (Jan. 24), MTSU (Feb. 4) and Austin Peay (Feb. 6).
The first scheduled outdoor match is at the Champions Club against Jacksonville State on Feb. 20. Other non-conference home outdoor matches include Alabama State (Feb. 21), Dalton State (Feb. 21) and Eastern Kentucky (Feb. 27).Â
The SoCon schedule begins at UNCG on March 5. UTC's hosts ETSU (March 25), Mercer (March 31), Wofford (April 2) and Western Carolina (April 13) in league play.Â
The 2016 SoCon Tournament is back in the Scenic City for the second time in the last three years. Action takes place April 22-24 at the Champions Club in Chattanooga.Â
Chattanooga is coming off its third straight 18-win season and a second place finish in league action. Five starters and six letter winners return from last year's roster.
