The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's tennis team dropped a hard-fought 4-3 match at UNC Greensboro today.  Chattanooga split six singles matches, but lost the doubles point in Southern Conference action. 

UTC played tough at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, but lost both matches 8-6.  The doubles point proved to be pivotal in today's close loss. 

The Spartans opened a 3-0 lead with wins at No. 1 and No. 6 singles.  Sophomore Nic Wilson put UTC on the board with his win at No. 5.  UNCG clinched the match with another win at No. 3.  Sophomore Lucas Plesky and junior Nick Wingord closed out the match with their three-set wins at No. 2 and No. 4, respectively.

“We lost another close one, but I am proud of how hard we battled in singles after losing a close doubles point,” stated head coach Carlos Garcia.  “We got great wins at 2, 4,and 5 and beat some experienced players.  They left everything on the court today.”

The Mocs are back in action on Saturday, April 11, for Senior Day against ETSU.  Match time is set for Noon (E.D.T.) at the UTC Tennis Courts.
