Storie, Patton Win Doubles Flight at Elon

Mocs wrap up play at the Elon Invitational
University of Tennessee at Chattanooga senior Alison Storie and freshman Sydney Patton won the Powell Doubles Flight at the Elon Invitational today. The Mocs wrapped up play in the three-day tournament by splitting their last two doubles matches.
Storie and Patton defeated a mixed team that included UTC freshman McKenzie Barco and Furman's Blair Martin. Storie and Patton won the match 8-6.
Storie took on Emory's Bridget Harding in the back draw of the Phoenix Bracket. Storie won that match (6-0, 2-6, 1-0 (8)), despite trailing 8-6 in the final frame.
Senior Katie Polk and junior Rachele Gazzola lost in the consolation finals of the Acorn Doubles Flight. They battled in a 9-8 (3) loss to Western Carolina's Shannon Bettiol and Elizabeth Ansari.
Final draws are attached to this story. UTC is back on the court, hosting the UTC Steve Baras Fall Classic on Oct. 2-3. Action takes place at the Champions Club in Chattanooga.
