GERMANTOWN, Tenn.---The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf matched its best finish of 2016-17 ending up in fifth at the Memphis Women's Intercollegiate. The Mocs 921 total was six behind FIU in fourth and one clear of Tennessee Tech and Cal State Fullerton in sixth.
Today's final round was the best for the quintet at Ridgeway Country Club. The 300 was led by
Monica San Juan's 74.
Holly Morgan and
Maria Pineiro added 75s with
Cristina Perez's 76 completing the team's tally.
The duo of Morgan and San Juan tied for 12th overall at 229. It's the best finish for each on the campaign. Pineiro turned in 231 with Perez just behind at 233.
Megan Woods shot 239.
Host Memphis won the tourney shooting 895. That was 17 better than runner-up Houston Baptist and 18 ahead of Murray State. Cal State Fullerton's Martina Edberg was medalist at -2, 211.
Chattanooga completes the fall slate at the Palmetto Intercollegiate. The three-day, 54-hole event starts Sunday and ends Tuesday at Turtle Point Golf Club on Kiawah Island in South Carolina. Links to the game preview, tournament notes, live scoring and more will be available on GoMocs.com.
