HANAHAN, S.C.---The Chattanooga Mocs finished 11th against another strong field at the Cougar Classic. The Mocs tied their low round of the season with a 1-over 289 and matched their best 54-hole total of 874 (+10).

Junior
Cristina Perez turned in an even-par 216 to lead the squad tying for 22nd overall.
Monica San Juan (221) and
Holly Morgan (222) were just behind.

Megan Woods had the team's low round of the day firing a 1-under 71. San Juan and Morgan were just a stroke off her pace at level-par (72), while Perez added a 74 to the team count.
Maddy McDanel had the drop number of 79.

The Mocs ended up three ahead of Wisconsin in 12th and six clear of Maryland in 13th. Louisville just kept them out of the top 10 at 8 over. All-in-all, UTC bettered seven power 5 programs including N.C. State (7 strokes), Mississippi State (7), Penn State (8), Clemson (15) and Indiana (23).

North Carolina was the team champion. The Tar Heels ran away from the field with a 26-under total of 838 closing with today's low round of 279 (-9). UNC's Kelly Whaley took medalist honors at -11, one clear of runner-up Katelyn Dambaugh (South Carolina).

The Mocs get two weeks off before returning to the tee at the Memphis Women's Intercollegiate. The two-day event is Oct. 17-18 at Ridgeway Country Club in the Memphis suburb of Germantown. Click the links above for final results and notes from this week's performance.
