Emily McLennan captured her third collegiate title, while the Chattanooga Mocs' runner-up finish at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic was their sixth straight top 3 of the season.

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C.---Emily McLennan claimed her third career win leading the Chattanooga Mocs to a runner-up finish at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic. McLennan shot 5-under 67 today to finish as co-medalist with Troy's Fatima Cano at 6-under 210.
Chattanooga shot 283 (-5) today to wind up second at 879. That was eight strokes behind Coastal Carolina (871) and five clear of third-place College of Charleston (884).
"There's nothing to complain about in the first and last rounds," coach Colette Murray said. "We just shot ourselves in the foot in the second. To shoot +25 in a round and finish second, we can't complain about that.
"Emily was outstanding. She executed well. I'm really delighted to see her shooting the numbers she is capable of shooting consistently. Cris wasn't hitting it her best, but she made it work. Really impressed with her play as well."
Cris Perez missed a second straight top 10 by a shot tying for 11th at +3 (219). She closed strong as well with her first career round in the 60's carding 69. Megan Woods (73) and Isabella Loza (74) rounded out the counting scores with Monica San Juan's 77 serving as the drop tally.
Woods tied for 28th at 225. It was her sixth straight tournament shooting 225 or better, the longest streak on the team. Loza (227) tied for 42nd, while San Juan (228) tied for 53rd.
McLennan and Cano finished three strokes ahead of Heather Munro (Elon) in third at -3 (213). McLennan recorded par or birdie on 50 of 54 holes, which is 92.6 percent of the time. It's the second time topping 50 with 51 in winning the Fall Invitational in September.
