Mocs in Seventh after 18 Holes at Vanderbilt

Megan Woods led the Chattanooga Mocs is 2 under through 18 holes at the Mason Rudolph Championships.

FRANKLIN, Tenn.---The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team is seventh after one round of the Mason Rudolph Championships. The Mocs shot 292 on the Vanderbilt Legends Club North Course.
 
Junior Megan Woods matched her career low with a 2-under par 70 which puts her in a tie for fourth. She also tied her career high of five birdies with three coming on the four par 5s.
 
Woods is not alone under par. Freshman Holly Morgan tallied her third straight par or better card with a 71 (-1). She's tied for eighth.
 
Maria Pineiro and Cristina Perez completed the team score posting 75 and 76, respectively. Monica San Juan had the drop score at 77, while Maddy McDanel shot 73 (+1) playing as an individual.
 
Northwestern and Alabama are tied atop the leaderboard at 4 under (284). SMU is third at E with Auburn another shot back at 1 over. UCF and Troy are one stroke ahead of the Mocs tied for fifth at 4 over. UTC is three clear of Baylor and Vanderbilt in eighth with Houston another four behind in 10th.
 
Cheyenne Knight (Alabama) and Elena Hualde (Auburn) are tied for first with a 68. Michigan State's Sarah Burnham is third at 69, while Woods headlines a group of four in fourth.
