University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis head coach Chad Camper announced the Mocs' spring schedule today. UTC has eight home duals on the upcoming slate, including the Southern Conference Tournament at the Champions Club in April.
"The team is excited about our spring schedule," stated Camper, who is entering his second season with the Mocs. "We have a nice blend of levels to help prepare us for the SoCon tournament. We still have a lot of improvement ahead and I feel our best tennis lies in the late spring."
UTC opens at Austin Peay on Monday, Jan. 15, in Clarksville, Tenn. This is the first of 10 non-conference road matches for the Mocs. Others include Memphis (1/21), Alabama (2/3), USC Upstate (2/10), Presbyterian (2/17), Clemson (2/18), MTSU (2/23), Tulane (2/24), Alabama A&M (3/11), Alabama State (3/25).
The home schedule starts on Jan. 19 against Belmont. Chattanooga also hosts Lipscomb (1/27), UT Martin (2/11) and Alabama-Huntsville (3/4) in home non-conference action.
The SoCon portion kicks off with a visit from ETSU on March 3. The Mocs host Wofford the following day as a part of a double-header with UAH.
A three-match road trip over the next two weekends includes trips to Samford (3/24) and Furman (3/3).
The home schedule closes out against Western Carolina on April 7 and Mercer on April 8, and the season finale follows at UNCG on April. 14.
Chattanooga once against hosts the SoCon Tournament at the prestigious Champions Club in Chattanooga. Action takes place on April 19-22.
The Mocs return all six starters from last year's 14-8 team that went 4-3 in league action.
