Head Coach Foster
How much did you have to talk to the players about slowing down and playing at their pace?
"It was difficult for a couple of reasons. One, our quickest most tenacious defenders aren't practicing at the moment, so we can't simulate. It's one thing to talk about it, it's another to play against it. I think Keiana played a little too fast.  But I think other players early on weren't trying to relieve her pressure forcing her to have to do too much.

"Once more players got engaged and were comfortable with the ball, Lakelyn turned the ball over a couple of times, we really didn't turn the ball over anymore. My confidence in Arianne, if she's going to do the little things that we know she's capable of doing and play at a tempo that we know she can play in. Aryanna is sort of a rock and has to do a lot of things. Has to be the communicator in our defense scheme.

"I thought we played good defense. It caused them problems. I thought that was a very tough game for players to play in. I thought it was called unevenly. I think the most frustrating thing for players is this is the way the game is going to be called, let's go play that way. I thought it was a difficult game for players to play in."

Are you pleased where you are as a team approaching conference play?
"At the beginning of the year if you said you were going to go 9-5 at that schedule, it's probably the toughest preseason schedule that we ever played. Connecticut isn't there, Notre Dame isn't there, but we played five power conference schools. We played the two predominant mid major powers in [Florida Gulf Coast and Green Bay. We learned a lot about ourselves. If you look back as the season progresses you'll probably find out a lot of these teams we played that people aren't familiar with will win their conferences. That starts to add up when you beat people like that for your quality points, RPI and things of that sort."

On her performance today…
"It's basically not being timid, if I'm open and shooting the ball with confidence."

How difficult was it to figure out a way to break the pressure?
"We were kind of frantic at first playing how they were. When we slowed down and began finding out who the open person was, we figured it out."

On Arianne Whitaker…
"I think Arianne taking pressure off of me, Keiana and Lakelyn is huge. It adds another dimension to our team. I think Arianne is figuring things out and we're figuring things out as well so it's been huge."

Lakelyn Bouldin
On breaking their pressure?
"I think it was slowing down and not playing franticly. When we were making those turnovers we were playing faster and speeding it up, so we were making crazy decisions."

Was there a particular feeling you were having this morning?
"Not really. In the game my shot was feeling pretty good. It was one of those days. I was spotting it, my teammates were finding me and I was hitting shots today."
