Mocs Finish River Landing Classic Tied for 6th

Maria Pineiro had the low round (73) of the day playing as an individual as the Chattanooga Mocs completed play in the season’s seventh event.

WALLACE, N.C.---The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team completed the River Landing Classic today shooting 310. That gave the squad a 901 total over their 54 holes at River Landing Golf Course tying for sixth with former Southern Conference member Elon.
 
Today's 310 was led by a trio of 77s from Monica San Juan, Holly Morgan and Maddy McDanel. Cristina Perez added a 79, while Megan Woods' 82 was the drop tally.
 
San Juan's paced the team tying for 17th at 225. That was one better than Perez shooting 226, while Morgan was another stroke behind at 227. McDanel and Woods turned in 229 and 232, respectively. Maria Pineiro shot 231 as an individual with her 73 serving as the low 18 by a Moc today.
 
Penn State claimed the team title shooting 878 to beat ETSU by seven. The Nittany Lions' 292 was one of just three team scores below 301 in the final round. The Bucs' Hee Ying Loy won medalist honors at 3 under.
 
Chattanooga has quite a break before the next event. The next tee is March 27-28 at the Henssler Financial Intercollegiate at Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw, Ga.
