Mocs 4th with 18 Holes to Go in North Carolina

Cristina Perez is tied for 11th at +3 leading the Chattanooga Mocs in the River Landing Classic.

WALLACE, N.C.---The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team is in fourth-place after 36 holes today at the River Landing Classic. The Mocs shot 591 with rounds of 292 and 299.
 
Cristina Perez is one shot out of the top 10 tied for 11th at 3-over par 147. Monica San Juan is right behind tied for 14th with a 4-over 148. Holly Morgan is another two strokes back at 150, followed by Megan Woods (151) and Maddy McDanel (152).
 
The 591 total is seven shots off the pace set by ETSU (584). Penn State (586) and East Carolina (588) are in second and third. The Bucs' Hee Ying Loy leads at 6-under 138.
 
The Mocs return to the tee at 8:45 a.m., Friday morning for the final 18. They begin on holes 5-7 in a shotgun start. Click the links above for results, live scoring and pairing.
 
Round One
Morgan led the way with a 1-under 71 for her first round of the spring. That was tied for second through 18 holes. San Juan added a level-par 72 with McDanel (73) and Perez (76) completing the team score of 292 (+4). That's seventh time the team score has been 4 over or better. That put the squad in fourth after 18 holes.
 
Round Two
Perez fired a 1-under 71 in the afternoon. It tied for the second-best 18 in round two. The 299 team score was built adding Woods with a 73, San Juan at 76 and the combo of Morgan and McDanel with 79s.
 
Scoring
The Mocs got three par or better cards today with Morgan and Perez each shooting 1-under 71 and San Juan's 72. All five shot 71-73 for at least one round.
