Katie Burrows, Head Coach

Opening remarks after tough 81-79 loss to UT Martin.
"I've said just about every game. I think the St. Louis game we did the best job with it, but our turnovers are killing us and it was very evident tonight. I thought we were making the turn, but not only did we have 23 turnovers, they capitalized on them with 31 points off of those turnovers. They did a great job in that respect. Their whole scheme is designed to speed you up and it did just that to us. Part of the problem with such a quick turnaround, you only have a day or two to prepare for that aggressiveness. We just weren't prepared. You could say it's scheduling. You could say it's me. You could say it's them. It really doesn't matter because the bottom line was that we weren't ready for it."

On the play of Lakelyn Bouldin & absence of Molly Melton against UTM press.
"Probably. But I have to have someone on the floor that will and wants to take care of the ball. I felt like it was such a hot potato in the first half. Nobody wanted that responsibility. Lakelyn took it upon her shoulders as she did the last game with Molly [Melton] out. We made some adjustments and I felt like there were still times where we would go brain dead and forget what we were doing in that moment. That's something Molly does a good job with so we missed that. I need some people to rally around her [Lakelyn]. She can't play 36 minutes a night with such a tight schedule. I can't say enough about that kid. I know that I can count on her and that's why she's in the ball game. I don't feel comfortable with her on the bench when she's providing numbers."

On in-bound play with 4 seconds left that resulted in turnover.
"They had been playing a 1-3-1 on the sideline, but that possession they went man-to-man, and that still was fine with the setup we were in. I was trying to get Eboni [Williams] to get to the rim and we were looking for her to get the ball by the rim and go up strong. She just didn't go to the rim. Relying on a freshman is a risk, but she will learn from that. She won't make that mistake again. We'll look at it again and I'll tell her this is why we did it. I'm disappointed we didn't get a look on that and we turned it over. But you live and you learn and get better from it."

On high amount of turnovers.
"We have to value the ball. In some of these games where we won, we still had way too many. The opposing team just hadn't capitalized on it, but this was a team that's really athletic and aggressive. They have a lot of different tools they can use as far as substitution. They ran a lot of kids in-and-out and everyone of them were effective in certain ways. Giving up 81 points is not a goal of ours. They just want to outscore you and rush you, and they did that to us tonight."

Lakelyn Bouldin, So.-G
On turning the ball over 23 times.
"I think with their pressure, it was our mistakes and not so much of the pressure they were bringing. We had 23 turnovers and majority, if not all, were on us so we have to tighten up in that aspect."

On how to limit mistakes.
"It's just where we have to be mentality tough right now. We can't let a team like that back in the game. They capitalized on our mistakes and we had to do the same to them."

On in-bound play turnover & moving forward.
"I think it was miscommunication. We just didn't execute like we need to. We have to use this as motivation and take it one game at a time. Moving forward, yes we will learn from this game, but we can't dwell on it. We have to learn from this game and apply it to UCF."

Morgan Hill, Fr.-G
On second half adjustments.
"We tried to attack the basket because we knew they were in foul trouble. We wanted to pump fake and attack to get them in more foul trouble and get to the free throw line. I think it was just trying to change it up a little and not shoot so many outside shots. I definitely had some open looks, but I think attacking worked well for us."
