Chattanooga Basketball Postgame Quotes
No. 10 NC State at Chattanooga

Overall thoughts after loss to No. 10 NC State.
"I was not displeased with our effort. I felt like my girls came out with the right mindset. But again, putting the ball in the hole is our issue. We're not scoring right out the gate and against a team like that you can't do that. They were hot and we weren't. We were down 16-3 and you can't win falling behind like that. We're going to have to work on getting low and getting in better position. We're going to work on a lot of things after a short break. We did take care of the ball tonight and I was pleased to see that we cleaned that up. I felt like the energy level kicked up a notch and we did a good job pressuring them. Really just battling and going for loose balls. Overall, pleased with the effort, but obviously hate losing. I'm grateful to have the opportunity to play against him and I know that will really help us."
On not taking open shots & what was the difference.
"I felt like we passed up some wide open looks that we should have taken. Against a team like that you can't pass those up and make sure you crash the boards hard. You're going to miss 100% of the shots you don't take. I did think we did a good job of attacking the lane and then dishing out with a shooter that had their feet set. It's a combination of things and hopefully we can start determining when we're open and get better looks. We also put them on the line a lot tonight for some reason. We can't allow 21 free throws, they scored 18 points on free throws and we can't let that happen."
On what was the goal coming into tonight & was it achieved.
"Winning and no. Winning is the goal and we did not achieve it. Effort doesn't win ball games, you have to knock down shots and execute. But I'm thankful I didn't have to coach that tonight because over the last couple games I felt like I had to coach that. So I was pleased on that side of things."Â
Brooke Burns, So.-G
On effort during loss to NC State.
"Effort wise, I think we did the best we could. We need to make small adjustments like boxing out every time. We give effort every play, but mentally we have to do the detailed things every single time and start making it a habit."

On playing tough competition like Louisville & NC State.
"I think it's important because the more you play tough competition, the more you get comfortable and not get nervous. Then you start doing everything you go over in practice, like the detailed things that matter. Even though we lost both those games, it's going to make us better for conference play."
Rochelle Lee, So.-F
On playing against tough post players.
"It was tough. It's not something we don't work on every day. We just have to be strong down there, stay low and move our feet. They were good though and made boxing out really tough."
