Chattanooga Basketball Postgame Quotes

Head Coach Jim Foster
Thoughts on the game:
"She's very talented and good, we needed someone with the courage to step up and take a charge because she was out of control 3 or 4 of those drives and we had people in position to take a charge and people just let her go. We are as responsible as they are for coming out and playing like we did. The enemy was us and we allowed them to hang around and kept depending on one or two players."
21 points off the bench for them, was that surprising for you?
"She is a starter and had missed three games in a row so she is not an off the bench player and is a very good player who usually starts for them and is second in scoring for them."
On their three-point shooting?
"We talk about that all the time. We were lazy three point defenders because we didn't have hands up. You have to convince kids today of a lot of things. We tell them this stat, in the NBA they shoot like 55-60% without a hand in their face and 25% with a hand in their face.
"Why would you not have a hand up in their face? If the best players on the world have trouble with it should trickle down to them. But we went out and dared them to make the shots and we didn't play anywhere near defensively the way we need to play with the kind of team we had and we can't take anything for granted. We got satisfied with exchanging baskets. This team is not tough yet."

What was the difference in the final twelve minutes of the game?
"I don't think we defended like we should have and on the offensive end we weren't executing. We were making costly turnovers, so that cost us a lot. Plus they were scoring on our turnovers because we weren't getting stops."
On how quickly they turn defense into offense:
"They're an athletic and physical team, so they're fast in transition. We weren't doing a good job of getting back and stopping the ball."
Lakelyn Bouldin – So.-G
How important was it to get that offensive play when they game switched up?
"In order for us to finish out a game we have to execute on offense and get a stop on defense. We didn't do that at the end."
