Chattanooga Basketball Postgame Quotes

Head Coach Jim Foster
On the encouraging takeaways from the game:
"This whole season was to get these young players to the point that they would be capable of doing what they were doing today.  Holding them accountable and not letting them get away with a bunch of bad habits, even though they still have a few.  I just think too often today kids come into college and they are thrown on the floor and they take their bad habits with them and they never get rid of them.  I just decided I was going to do it differently with this group.  I think you saw today that it makes a difference.

"The difference too is, you have teams and you have programs.  We have built a program.  In the framework of that, there are certain things you have to do.  You have to do them the way we want you to do them and you will find out that it is going to make you a pretty good basketball player.  I think you saw that tonight from a couple."

On the play of Bria Dial:
"
I thought Bria came in and did a good job on the Callaway kid.  She was really hurting us and she did a better job.  Then Lawrence, to her credit, she as good off the bounce – I think the kids Williams that played at South Florida and is now in the WNBA with Connecticut – I think she is the same.  It is old fashioned.  In the day and age of the three, very rarely do you see kids spend a lot of time developing their craft off the bounce.  She certainly has done that and is very good."

On the play of Brooke Burns:
"She did a very good job.  I think Lawrence caught up at the end.  She played 40 minutes and that is something she hadn't been doing.  She is a tough kid.  She is going to be a really good player as she learns and goes along.  She is just solid and coachable."

On the play of Mia Long:
"She has terrific potential.  Sometimes she is her own worst enemy.  She has made tremendous strides not playing too fast.  The times she did today, she paid for it.  That will register with her and she will have a better understanding  of what we were talking about when we say these things they don't get sometimes."
