PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico---The Chattanooga Mocs are eighth through 36 holes of the Hawkeye El Tigre Invitational. Their 598 total is one behind Kennesaw State in seventh and one ahead of Iowa and New Mexico State in ninth.

Holly Morgan's 3 over is tied for 16th. Cristina Perez is one behind her at +4 with Monica San Juan close behind at +5. Megan Woods shot 11 over followed by Maddy McDanel at +13.

The Mocs started with a 299 which tied for seventh with Kennesaw State and Idaho. That put the trio two ahead of Wisconsin, four in front of Iowa and six clear of Indiana.

Morgan led the way with a 1-over 73 just ahead of Woods (74) and San Juan (75). Perez and McDanel carded 77s. The ladies started on holes 8-10 in the shotgun format. They tallied eight of their nine birdies in the first nine holes of the day, seven coming on the tract's back side.

The group made the turn at a combined 2 over. The front side proved more arduous with just San Juan's birdie at the par 5 fourth as the lone red number over the second nine. While birdies proved difficult, the Mocs parred 26 of 36 holes to keep the round together.

The second round was steady throughout turning in another 299. Birdies were not plentiful, but the Mocs were consistent over both nines. No one was more consistent than Perez.

The senior from Pamplona, Spain turned in a spotless 1-under 71 tallying a birdie with 17 pars. That led the counting cards with San Juan (74), Morgan (74) and McDanel (80) rounding out the second 299.

No. 16 Arizona is team leader with a 6-under total, 18 strokes over No. 14 Washington in second. The Wildcats' Bianca Pagdanganan is the individual leader at 7 under. Click the scoring and pairings link above for final round information.
