HILTON HEAD---The Chattanooga Mocs and the Southern Conference Women's Golf Championships field battled the elements again on day two with the Mocs moving up into a tie for second with Mercer. The Mocs 317 puts them and the Bears at 625 trailing No. 8 Furman.
UTC shot 317 amid cold and windy conditions with gusts of more than 30 miles per hour for the second day in a row.
Holly Morgan was undaunted tying for the third-best round today with 76.
Megan Woods turned in 79 as
Monica San Juan and
Cristina Perez rounded out the tally with 80 and 82, respectively.
Morgan moved into a tie for second with Natalie Srinivasan, the 22nd-ranked player in the nation, at 152. That's three off the lead set by the Paladins Reona Hirai at 149. Woods is also in the top 10, tied for eighth with 157. San Juan is one behind her at 157 with Perez coming in at 160.
Maddy McDanel's registered 170.
The Mocs and Bears are 21 strokes clear of the fourth-place duo of UNCG and Samford at 646. ETSU (651) is sixth followed by Wofford (658), The Citadel (699) and Western Carolina (716). Live scoring and pairings are linked above along with full 36-hole results and today's photo gallery.
