MACON, Ga.---The Chattanooga Mocs struggled with a 309 day, but it included one great highlight. Senior Cristina Perez recorded the first hole-in-one in competition for the program early in the day.

Perez took the tee with her 9 iron on the par 3 fifth. She controlled it perfectly from 115 yards out for the ace. It was one of four sub-par scores on the counting cards today.

The 309 dropped the Mocs into a tie for seventh with Marshal at 611. The duo is four behind Troy in sixth at 607 and seven clear of LSU, North Florida and ETSU in ninth.

Megan Woods had the low round with 76. Monica San Juan was one back with 77, while Perez and Maddy McDanel turned in 77s. Holly Morgan's 80 was the drop tally.

San Juan leads the quintet with 150. She's two north of Perez at 152 followed closely by Woods at 153. McDanel (157) and Morgan (158) are one-stroke apart as well.

Vanderbilt holds the lead at 579 behind individual leader Morgan Baxendale's 2-under 142. Old Dominion is in second with 587, seven ahead of third-place Kennesaw State (594).

3 NOTES TO KNOW
  • Season-low three birdies. Perez's hole-in-one is the third eagle of the year.
  • 76 ties for the highest low counting score of the season. San Juan (round 2) and Morgan (round 3) both shot team-best 76s at the Trinity Forest Invite in October.
  • A win over LSU would mark the ninth win over a power 5 conference member (LSU, Ole Miss, Kansas, Louisville, Maryland, Michigan, Rutgers & Iowa).
