GREENVILLE, S.C. --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's soccer team fell 1-0 at Furman Sunday afternoon for its first loss in Southern Conference action this season. UTC is 6-5-2 overall and 2-1-1 against the league. Furman improves to 6-5 on the year and 1-3 in SoCon play.
"It is a disappointing result," Chattanooga head coach
Gavin McKinney said. "Furman is a quality side. They are the defending regular season champions. I feel we played well enough in moments to get something out of the game."

th minutes. Erin Houlihan took the ball 1v1 toward the goal on the right and slipped a shot between Sheilds legs for her fourth goal of the season. Shields had five saves in the match and dropped her record to 5-1-2. She was replaced at halftime by junior

The Paladins kept possession of the ball throughout much of the game and outshot the Mocs 17-8 with a 7-3 shots on goal advantage.
Chloe Arnold and
Bailey Gale each had two shots in the match with one shot on goal apiece. Four more Chattanooga players would get off a shot, but the back of the net remained elusive.

Shields had five saves in the match and Correa made one stop in her 45 minutes on four shots by Furman.
