The Dayle May Award has been presented by Dayle May Jewelers for over 40 years.

Graduating student-athletes Jake Huffine and Catherine Meyer were honored with the Dayle May Award during the Mocs basketball double-header at McKenzie Arena tonight.

Presented by Dayle May Jewelers for over 40 years, the Dayle May Award is given to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga male and female graduating student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point-average.

Huffine is a member of the wrestling team and the starter at 133 pounds.  The Cartersville, Ga., native has a 4.0 GPA as an Accounting major.  He has earned both the Southern Conference Wrestler and Student-Athlete of the Week honors with a 15-9 record this season.

Huffine is the fourth wrestler to earn the Dayle May Award, joining Pat Murphy (1983), Kevin Baltz (2000) and John Lampe (2016).

Meyer started 16 of 20 games for the Mocs soccer team.  She is graduating in just three years with a degree in Psychology.  The Hendersonville, Tenn., native also made the Academic All-SoCon team and carries a 4.0 GPA.  She is the first representative from the soccer program to earn the award.
