Postgame Quotes at Furman

Chattanooga Basketball Postgame Quotes
Chattanooga at Furman

Head Coach Katie Burrows
Overall thoughts on the game:
"It is a game of runs and they feed off the Davidson kid.  I have been saying it this whole time.  She is an X-Factor for them.  She was not a part of the first half last time and made a huge difference for them.  She had five points at the half and scored 15 in the second half.  They feed off that kid.  They end up getting hot.  All of them end up getting hot … it is a very frustrating thing when you don't keep tight.

"We gave up 11 offensive rebounds.  We went and got 15, thankfully, because we were only shooting 33% on the game."

"We get 62 shots to their 51 and we don't pull out that win.  You have to put the ball in the hole."

On the play of Furman's Duncan:
"She is a tough player.  She does a lot of the dirty work for them.  She is getting rebounds, she is getting to the rim.  She does a good job of attacking.  Knowing that about her, we have to do a better job of keeping her in front of us and not letting her get to the rim and not letting her get deep position.  We did make a better adjustment and only gave up one offensive rebound to her in the second half.  She had three at the half."

More on the overall play:
"Overall, we did not take very good care of the ball.  We had 12 turnovers against a team that is not really pressuring very much.  We just have to do a better job of staying tight the whole game.  I don't think the effort wasn't there.  Our kids were playing hard. We just have to put the dang ball in the hole."
