ABOUT CHATTANOOGA GOLF
Â
CHATTANOOGA---There aren't many things in an athlete's life more exciting than representing their country. Unless, of course, you help lead you national team to a championship.
Â
Chattanooga Mocs sophomore
Dorota Zalewska did just that earlier this month. She was one of four to pace Poland in capturing the European Team Shield Championship in Lithuania. The quartet shot 9 over in the stroke play portion leading all competing nations. They completed the championship run with a 2.5-0.5 dominating win over Bulgaria.
Â
Zalewska led her team in the stroke play with a 1-over 73. That was second overall with one birdie and 15 pars offsetting two bogeys at the V Golf Club in Vilnius. She then won by a commanding 5&4 in match play as the Polish claimed the trophy after a third-place finish in 2018.

MORE SUMMER UPDATES
That wasn't the only win for Zalewska. Prior to the team win, she won the Kram Open by five shots. Zalewska trailed by two shots after 36 holes, but her final round 72 earned the win.
Â
Coach
Colette Murray does not let her ladies have all the fun. This summer she won the Chattanooga City Women's Amateur for the third-straight year.
Â
Sophomore
Esme Hamilton made a couple of starts in her native Great Britain this summer. Her 150 over 36 holes of stroke play qualifying was tied for 10th-lowest in the field at Saunton Golf Club West Course in Devon. She was knocked out in the round of 16 in match play.
Â
Hamilton also played for the coveted St. Rule Trophy on both the New & Old Courses at legendary St. Andrews. After an opening round 77, she responded with cards of 73 and 72.
