FLORENCE, Ala. --- Chattanooga sophomore
Hollie Massey rocketed home a free kick in the final seconds of play to give the Mocs at 1-0 victory on the road at North Alabama Friday night.

Massey left the second half briefly to receive treatment for a hit to the face but returned in plenty of time to take a free kick for the Mocs directly in front of the net just outside of the 25 yard box. Her shot hit in the upper right corner beyond the reach of freshman keeper Jordyn Spreck who came on in relief midway through the first half.

The Mocs pushed the advantage most of the night, keeping possession and playing very aggressive with
and without the ball. UTC outshot the Lions 16-8 and had a 7-2 shots on goal advantage.
Abbey Saddler got the start in the net and made two saves behind a stout Chattanooga defense.

UTC had two close calls in the second half. Freshman
Mackenzie Smith sent a lofting shot in from the right that hit off the cross bar in the 56
th minute and
Emily Szymanski's attempt in the 81
st minute hit off the right post.

Four Chattanooga players had multiple shots including
Chloe Arnold and
Kendra Mueller with three apiece. Massey and
Maddie Burman added two each and six more UTC players sent a shot toward the net.

The Mocs had a 6-0 corner kick advantage including two in the waning moments.
