CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- University of Tennessee at Chattanooga sophomore
Samantha Shaw hit home her second goal of the year Sunday afternoon to earn a 1-1 tie for the Mocs against Alabama on a hot Sunday afternoon at the UTC Sports Complex.

AK Anderson raced down the right side with the ball and fed it inside where it was flicked on by
Bailey Gale to Shaw on the near side in the 78
th minute to tie the match 1-1.
"The goal was excellent," Chattanooga head coach
Gavin McKinney said. "Sam got on the end of it. The second goal for her in three games."
Alabama took a 1-0 lead on a goal from Nealy Martin in the 58
th minute. Martin drove into the box and forced the ball into the upper right corner of the net for the first score of the match.
Neither team could find the back of the net in the first half with Alabama outshooting the Mocs 6-1 in the frame. The Tide outshot the Mocs 16-4 for the game with Taylor Morgan hitting a game-best four toward the Mocs keeper
Abbey Saddler, getting just one on goal. Carlie Giammona had three shots for Alabama while three more added two shots apiece. Three of Chattanooga's four shots were on goal.
Abbey Saddler made three saves on the day, all three in overtime while Alabama's keeper Alex Plavin had two saves in regulation.
Chattanooga improves to 3-1-2 on the year while the Tide gets its first tie to move to 3-2-1 overall. The Mocs will be on the road Thursday at SEC foe Vanderbilt in a Thursday evening matchup. Follow all the action online at GoMocs.com.
