Opening thoughts on the game:
"That is a true home win for them. That is life on the road. Things are not always going to bounce your way. That is why you have to stay tighter and you can't make as many mistakes. Again, turn the ball over too much.
"And it is silly stuff. We worked against that press and they turned up the heat a little bit and we allowed them. We made some adjustments and did a little better with it.Â
"I am proud of my bunch, but again it comes down to, we have to put the ball in the hole and get stops when it counts. Making adjustments defensively. Even when they can't hear me screaming across the court. That come with experience. I have sophomores that are trying to figure that stuff out. We have to do a better job preparing ourselves for that.
"We battled and just came up short.
"I was proud to see that Nakeia wanted to see the ball in her hands when Lakely was struggling. Bria hit some big shots in the first half. Deena hit some big shots for us in the first half and made some nice little plays. We just needed a bigger lineup in there defensively towards the end. I am proud of a lot of things.
"We made steps and strides tonight to be a better team, but on the road you can't make that many mistakes and expect to win."
On splitting the first road trip of the conference season:
"We are not going home 0-2. At least we are 1-1. Now we are going home and maybe get a couple at home. This first half is going to be tough because there are five out of seven on the road. If we can buckle down and squeak out some more of these it will be a good second half for us."
