Postgame Notes at Furman

Chattanooga Basketball Postgame Notes
Chattanooga at Furman
Timmons Arena – Greenville, S.C.
Thursday – Feb. 13, 2020

TEAM
- The Mocs scored a 69-63 win over Furman in Timmons Arena tonight.  UTC improved to 7-17 overall and 6-4 in SoCon action.  Furman dropped to 15-10 and 5-5 in league play.

- Chattanooga started the game with a 2-0 advantage on an administrative technical foul…the shot clock horn malfunctioned on the pre-game test. Lakelyn Bouldin made both free throws before the tip. Last time the Mocs started the game shooting technical was at Appalachian State (maybe 2003?) for no official book at the table.

- Chattanooga was 5-of-8 from the free throw line through three quarters and 12-14 in the fourth quarter. Furman was 20-of-22 from the charity stripe in the first three quarters and just 3-for-3 in the final period.

- Furman outscored Chattanooga 24-14 in the fourth quarter making 9-of-15 in the frame.

- UTC shot 40.7 percent (22-54) from the field … 8-of-20 (40%) from the 3-point line and 17-or-24 (70.8%) from the free throw line.

- UTC had four players in double figures … fourth time this season … last was at ETSU on Feb. 1.

- Mocs outscored Paladins 26-14 in the paint … UTC scored 22 points off 20 Furman turnovers and the Paladins had 10 points off 14 UTC turnovers.

- Chattanooga had 10 turnovers in the first half and only four in the second.

- 24 free throws is tied for second-most attempts this season by the Mocs. Furman's 23 made free throws and 25 attempts are the most by a UTC opponent, beating out the 19-of-24 the Paladins had at Chattanooga earlier this season.

- 20 Furman turnovers is the most by a UTC opponent this year, besting the 19 the Paladins had in Chattanooga earlier this year.

- UTC saw it's 7-0 lead to start the game disappear to a 7-6 lead with 7:18 to go in the opening frame. UTC then went on a 12-0 run to take a 19-6 lead with 3:56 in the period. Mocs led 22-13 at the end of the first.

- Furman was 1-of-8 in the third quarter from the field and 10-of-12 from the free throw line.
