The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team dropped a tight 4-3 match at UNC Asheville today.  It was the first loss of the season for the Mocs who fall to 4-1 overall.  UNCA improved its record to 4-1.
 
Asheville won the doubles point and five of the six singles matches went three sets on the indoor courts of the Asheville Racquet Club. 

Freshman Jessie Young and junior Bogdana Zaporozhets won the lone doubles match for the Mocs at No. 2.  They improved to 5-0 in doubles play this spring. 

UTC took all three matches in the bottom half of the singles lineup, beginning with Zaprorozhets win at No. 4.  Junior Emma Van Hee and freshman Callie Billman both won their fifth in a row.  Van Hee is 3-0 at No. 5 in dual action, while Billman moved to 5-0 at No. 6.

"It was a tough loss," stated head coach Chad Camper.  "They women played hard and we are young in many spots and just couldn't put it together tonight. I feel the team will learn from this and excited about two tough matches on Sunday."

Up next for the Mocs is a Sunday double-header in Chattanooga.  UTC hosts Marquette at 10:00 a.m. and Brenau at 6:00 p.m. at McCallie's Strang-Voges Tennis Center.
