The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team scored a 6-1 win at Presbyterian College this afternoon. The Mocs took the double point and five of the six singles matches to improved to 7-4 overall.
Junior
Emma Van Hee and sophomore
Caroline Gibbens moved to 5-6 at No. 1 doubles, while junior
Bogdana Zaporozhets and freshman
Jessie Young upped their mark to 9-2 at No. 2 with a point-clinching win today.
Van Hee won her fifth in a row in singes, scoring a straight-sets win at No. 6 today. Young moved to 6-5 at No. 1, while Zaporozhets also scored a point at No. 2. Others to win in singles action were sophomore
Polina Goloputova in three sets at No. 4 and freshman
Callie Billman in straight sets at No. 5.
"This was a great win for us, playing outdoors and on the road," stated head coach
Chad Camper. "The program definitely improved today."
Up next for the Mocs is the first home Southern Conference dual and the match of the season at the UTC Tennis Center against Western Carolina on Saturday, March 7, at 10:00 a.m. (E.S.T).
