TEAM
- Chattanooga fell 63-55 to Mercer in the Southern Conference Tournament quarterfinals. UTC is 11-18 overall. Mercer improves to 8-23 and will face the winner of the #3 UNCG/#6 ETSU game Friday afternoon.
- UTC is 2-1 against Mercer in the SoCon Tournament. The two wins for Chattanooga were in the tournament final (2016, 2017).
- Mercer and Chattanooga have combined to win the last seven SoCon Tournament titles. Mocs had five from 2013-2017. Mercer won the last two.
- UTC is now 23-7 in quarterfinal games. Last time UTC lost in the quarters was in 2018 to UNCG in double overtime.
- After trailing 27-20 at the half, the Mocs were edged 36-35 in the second half.
- UTC shot 50 percent or better in the first and third quarters. Mocs were 22-57 (38.6%) for the game. UTC matched its season-low for 3-pointers made with 2 (vs. ETSU on 2/29). Both were made in the second half.
- UTC outscored Mercer 36-24 in the paint and 14-9 on second chance points with 11 offensive rebounds. Mercer scored eight points on 13 Moc' turnovers. UTC scored four on seven mistakes by the Bears.
