ABOUT CHATTANOOGA GOLF
Â
CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf program has a stellar record of achievement on and off the course since Coach
Colette Murray re-started the program from scratch in 2007-08. The ladies opened that fall with three straight wins, and there's been not looking back since.
Â
The golfers routinely rank in the top three programs in team GPA each year in the athletics department. This year's group added two more the 28-person ledger of Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars over the 13 campaigns.
Â
This year saw two repeats from 2019-20. Sophomore
Esme Hamilton and senior
Kirsty Beckwith earned the honor that requires a minimum 3.50 grade point average.
Â
Hamilton not only turned in a school-record average of 73.33, but she also recorded yet another 4.0 semester. Her perfect academic mark since entering Chattanooga Fall 2018 comes in the field of Environmental Studies.
Â
Beckwith graduated easily surpassing the WGCA standard for the award. She marked off her fourth All-American Scholar nod. She earned the second Southern Conference Post-Graduate Scholarship joining 2016 SoCon Champion
Megan Woods (2018). Beckwith plans to augment her Psychology degree with an MBA with an eye on the financial industry.
Â
The entire squad earned Dean's List and Academic All-SoCon mention.
