HEAD COACH KATIE BURROWS

On the first half struggles
"The first couple of possessions we did a good job. Then all of a sudden we decided to start playing fast, not spreading the floor, forcing stuff. They made an adjustment where they were going to pack it in the paint a little bit better on us today. We weren't knocking down outside shots. They were also rotating better so we started trying to force things inside."

On the turnovers
"A team that is not pressing you and not really pressuring you, you should not have that many turnovers against. Those were all 100% because we didn't do the things that we are supposed to be doing. That is what I'm frustrated about. That team wanted it more than we did today and its unacceptable."

On the difference in play in the second half
"We made some really great plays down the stretch. It should have never gotten to that point. I'm just real disappointed in the fact that we came out, we were not ready to play this ball game today.

"Mentally you've got to be ready to play. Again, they just wanted it more than we did. They got the loose balls, they got the offensive rebounds. We just didn't take care of business. We decided that we wanted to do that in the second half, but it was too late. That's the frustrating part."

On playing a second time in three days
"I told them that this was going to be a different team today. They just came off some major adversity. They lost their staring point guard the other day, they were down in the dumps, there was a struggle. They're going to be different. They're going to have a renewed mind, they're going to be ready to go and they were! I warned them of that. We still came out flat, we still came out trying to force stuff."

On the play in the second half
"The damage was done, we were down 10. We outrebounded them like crazy in the second half. But where was that to begin with? That's the whole point. You have to play four quarters. We've been doing that the last five games and all of a sudden today we just struggled. Makes me kind of evaluate how we want to prepare that day in between, but for now we've got to look ahead and prepare for Samford."
