GENERAL
- The Chattanooga Mocs dropped an 88-70 decision to Belmont Tuesday night in the season opener for both programs.
- 25-23 all-time opening the season.
- 14-7 in season openers at home…31-17 all-time in first home game of the season.
- Trailed by as many as 21, 53-32 with 0:45 left in second quarter…out-scored the Bruins 30-15 over the next 11:53 to cut the margin to six, 68-62, with the ball…a three from
Sigrun Olafsdottir was just off the mark at 8:03 as Belmont finished the contest on a 20-8 run.
- Shot 77.8 percent (7-9) in the third quarter…14 of 26 (53.8%) in the second half but just 1-for-8 from 3pt range over that stretch.
- -2 on the boards (34-36)…was -5 (15-20) at halftime.
- Difference was turnovers…margin was just -5 with 15 for UTC and 10 for the visitors, but Belmont was +13 (24-11) in points off turnovers.
- The is the 48th official season for women's basketball at Chattanooga…894-499 all-time with a .642 winning percentage.
- The Mocs have made at least one 3pt in 677 consecutive games…the streak dates back to December 1999…off night making three of 17 (17.6%).
- Belmont is the alma mater of Maddie Wright, daughter of Mocs Head Football Coach
Rusty Wright…she had five points and two rebounds in 19+ minutes in the last meeting in Nashville on Nov. 7, 2019…that's also the last meeting opening a season between the two programs.

Dena Jarrells tied her career high with eight assists…also had that total against Vanderbilt.
