ABOUT CHATTANOOGA GOLF
CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs was ninth through 18 holes of a frost delayed Trinity Forest Invitational. The delay cost the 14-team field an opportunity to complete a 36-hole day.
The Mocs shot 307 in that early round led by
Beatriz Barrios. The freshman from Seville, Spain, was tied for 11th at 74. That was one better than
Rachel Thompson who was tied for 15th with 75.
Esme Hamilton tallied 77 with
Daphne van Son closing the team score with 81.
The afternoon round's results were unofficial. The team played together with three scores listed through 13 holes and two others past 15. Hamilton is listed at 2 over to that point while van Son is +4. The field completes their final three-plus holes before a pause to change hole locations and start the final 18 Tuesday.
Top-ranked Baylor led the way over the opening 18 with 284. Oklahoma State sat second at 292. The Cowgirls Maja Stark fired 66 (-6) which was more than eight strokes better than the 77.31 average across the stacked squads.
