Chad Camper announced the addition of Nicole Abel to the Mocs 2021-22 roster. A native of Acworth, Ga., Abel is a four-star prep prospect according to TennisRecruiting.net.
"Nicole is a solid and stable player," stated Camper. "We graduated some great seniors and need a player like Nicole to help continue our success on the court."
A former team MVP and Cobb County Tennis Player of the Year from Kell High School, Abel is currently ranked in the top 150 in the nation. She is 45th in the very competitive Southeast region and No. 11 in the state of Georgia.
Abel led the Longhorns to the state finals in both her freshman and sophomore seasons. She also won the Southeast Draw at the 2019 National Doubles Championship in Orlando, Fla., and was a Southern Level 1 singles finalist that same year. Recently she was a National Level 3 doubles 3rd place finisher in 2021.
"Her reputation in the tennis community is that of a hard worker and a great teammate," added Camper. "That is exactly what we aspire to do here at Chattanooga."
Abel is the daughter of Patty and David and has a twin brother, Christopher. She plans to major in Business and was the 2020 Kell High School English Student of the Year.
