Two members of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Athletics Communications staff earned recognition from the Tennessee Sports Writers Association this week.
Anne Wehunt and JAy Blackman earned second and third place honors in the "Best Event Writer" category for collegiate athletic departments who are members of the organization.
All member colleges and universities in the state of Tennessee are eligible for the award. Each of the first, second and third-place winners will be recognized during the TSWA Hall of Fame dinner and banquet on Thursday, July 8, at Cumberland University.
This is the second honor for Wehunt who is entering her 21st year with the Mocs, serving as the primary contact for UTC's women's basketball, track & field, cross country and soccer programs. She also took
second place in 2018.
It is the first recognition for Blackman, who was recently named
Deputy Director of Athletics for Internal Operations. He is entering his 14
th year at UTC, serving as the communications contact for football, wrestling and tennis in 2020-21.
