Postgame Quotes

Head Coach Katie Burrows:
On the first half success.

"It was the best we've played this season for a number of reasons… it's been a few games since we've seen Dena (Jarrells) come along. She found her rhythm today and did what she needed to do to get back on track for us. She had 21 of those 23 in the first half and just didn't get the looks in the second half, which smart on their (UNCG's) part, they need to guard her, and she had eight assists. She did her job for us today, which was really good to see. Hopefully that gives her confidence moving forward. Singrun (Olafsdottir) shot the ball well, haven't seen her shoot the three like that in a long time. She also did the other things well for us, cutting hard, defending, things of that nature. Abbey is doing her things and Amaria Pugh with a double-double. Mari has gotten better for us every game. She got a double-double with points and rebounds, four assists and one turnover. I can't say enough about her level of maturity that she is exuding right now for us at the guard position. I'm just really proud of them."

On Jarrells' game.

"I have confidence in her to make big shots because she has made those shots for us in the past. I'm pleased that she was hitting on all cylinders today."

Chemistry and playing better

"I've said this a few times over the last couple of weeks. Anytime you have five new people and having to contribute immediately, there is a lack of experience. They are all used to winning; they have that grit and determination. They don't know their teammates… they don't know each other. When you have a veteran group, you subconsciously know where they are going to be. They are learning one-another's tendencies, when Singrun is going to back cut, when Abbey is going to post up. Yes, I think you're seeing that the chemistry has definitely evolved. We are finally connecting and putting wins in the column."
