ABOUT CHATTANOOGA GOLF
EATONTON, Ga.---The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team tied for ninth with South Dakota State at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invite. The Mocs four turned in 303 Sunday to complete the three-day event at 914.
It was a tough finish for the group after starting on holes 7-10 and turning to the front nine at 2 over. They played 13 over the rest of the way.
"It's a little frustrating because we got off to a great start today," Coach
Colette Murray stated. "Clawed our way back into it, and that front nine just got the best of us all three days. We've got work to do, but we have time to get it done."
Today's round was led by
Dorota Zalewska. She shot even-par 72 which was followed by
Esme Hamilton and
Megan Docherty, each with 76.
Carolina Hortian ended with 79 for the squad's 303 total.
Zalewska and Hamilton tied for seventh overall with 6-over 222s. That was five off the pace set by the medalist trio of Hollie Muse (ETSU), Sophie Bert (ETSU) and Mindy Herrick (North Florida) at 1-over 217. The Bucs won the event by 11 over host Mercer.
The Mocs return to the tee in two weeks in Florida. The ladies tackle the UNF Collegiate March 7-8 at the Country Club of Jacksonville.
